~ Dear Diary --:
On May 18th. I went home with Owen Whitehouse.  He carried me out to the gate and down to his Nan’s car.  When his Nan saw me she said I was beautiful and she hugged me. It's really nice getting hugs, especialy from nice ladies. Owen held me up at the car window so I could see where I was going. There were boys and girls going home with their Mammies, some were walking home together and others were cycling home. We saw some ladies walking home with their shopping and we saw workmen buolding a new house. When we reached Owen’s house he carried me all around his home.  I loved his bedroom and I sat on his bed, while he changed his clothes.  I went outside with Owen and met his friends and they all wanted to hug me and that made me very happy.  Owen put me on his bicycle and took me to the beach. He cycled really fast. I forgot to wear my helmet but I hoped we would not have a crash on the way. I loved the big waves and I watched the boys and girls on their surfboards. OH, how I wished I could do that.  Owen did not want me to get wet and he carried me while he waded in the water.  I love Tramore. It is a lovely place.  The people are very nice and I think everyone likes me.

I am very happy here and I have made lots of friends so far. Today I am going to the amusement park with Owen and his brother Lee.  I got so excited when Owen told me; I almost jumped out of his arms.  I have a lovely small bed all for myself.  Owen made it from a basket and his Mam dressed it.  I was skateboarding and I broke a bone in my leg and ended up in Ardkeen Hospital.  Now I am like Hop along Cassidy.  I will have to go around for the next day or two with a plaster on it and a crutch. Tomorrow I am going to visit a new friend.  I will be sorry to leave Owen’s home but I am excited too, as I will be meeting a new friend in Tramore.  I now have a crutch and a plaster on my leg.  I hobble everywhere.
