Day 9
~
Dear
Diary --:
Today I went home with John.
John goes home on the bus and I went with him. Lots of other boys and
girls go home on the same bus. The music on the bus was cool. I really
liked it. We were all rocking in the back. We got off the bus and John and
his brother ran home as fast as they could to show me off. His Mom thought
I was lovely and she said I was welcome and asked me to stay for dinner.
When we got in the door John did his homework.
I sat up beside him as he did it. John is good in school so his
teacher says. When John was finished we played his Sega. We played FIFA
96. John beat me 8 - 0
because I am a beginner. He showed me a few tricks and I got better as
time went on. After we played the Sega we went out John's back garden. I
took 6 penalties on John and I scored none.
John is a good footballer and a great goalkeeper. No matter how
hard I kicked the ball he always managed to save it.
He scored five on me but I manage to save only one. John told me he
would show me a few tricks and by the time I go home to Newfoundland I
would be a brilliant goalkeeper.
Later we had our dinner. We had chips and
sausages. They were
delicious. Then we watched TV. After
that we went to bed, but before we did we had to wash our faces, brush our
teeth and say our prayers. The
next day we got up and had our breakfast.
We had Weetabix, and then after that we watched a match on the TV.
It was a football game from Italy. Juventus were playing. it was good and
at half time the pitch was flooded and after around 1 hour and a half the
game was back on Juventus lost by 1 goal to 0. After that we had to go to
his cousins because his Mum and Dad were going to a weeding. Down in
John's cousins house we played snooker.
After that we played his Play Station. John brought his premier
league 2000 book down it is a sticker book so John and his cousin swooped
and I watched. They explained that you get packets of stickers in the
local shop of footballers and you must try and collect all the players
from each team. Everybody wanted to collect Manchester United stickers, as
they are the most popular team in the class. You also must buy a special
sticker album where you out the stickers. You get all sorts of information
about each player in the album. That was my visit with John. I hope to go
back some other day and score a few goals against him.
