Happy New Year Everyone, Nice to still be here doing our stuff. The New Gobi transport trailer has been built by Willie and will be in operation late January, We have also Purchased a new Mixing desk to further the quality of sound, The Gig Guide Page has just been updated for 2003. Hopefully we will be doing more this year,  At this stage in the month I'd like to Thank Wayne Dunne For stepping in to Fill Eoin's Shoes On Bass for  the month, Eoin Is Busy having his hair done but I am assured the scaffolding will be down and our bass man will be back in February. Other than that, Thanks to all our friends and followers for a great December, Ill Try Be better this year with updates. See You All Soon 

From January Hal will be equipped with a new digital camera. He will bring it to gigs and start including some photos of people at gigs, especially birthday people and anyone who passes out drunk. Also we have almost completed our CD. This has taken ages to do because we have been so busy. A few finishing touches in January and it should be available. Looks to be an exciting year for us. We are expanding our area and starting in some venues in Dublin, should be fun,

Mr Bradley, all of our venues. The band for their commitment and enthusiasm. Fergal for his work on the site, Greeno best of luck in he Wild Ones, Richie, Pierce, Ger  for standing in during the year at short notice, Graham Coffey (see links cofdesign) for his design of our poster and counless photos, a talented man and designer of Christy Moores Cd Sleeve. God I should charge him for that add, the staff in, The Wells, Dowlings, O'Connors, The copper bar, the Spout, Dagwelds, The Turn Inn, our regular haunts and also the staff  in venues we just play occasionally, Last but not least the people who come to see us, without you guys we would be nothing. Thank you all for braving the weather to come and spend an evening with Gobi, And to finish I'd like to wish Revelate the best of luck and offer a hand should they ever need , they are reduced to three after Greeno left but are an excellent Rock band and I am confident that they will continue to do the business for a long time yet. So from Gobi, have a great Christmas, Hope to see you all over the holidays  and have a happy new year .

Very little updates at the moment due to communication problems (hal's computer is knackered). Too small a PC for all the Adult material he has on it I reckon. I will be adding new things to this place in a few weeks. I'm getting a hi-speed line from Eircom and I will be able to upload files much quicker than before. That has got to be my main pet hate lately. Uploading large files and the line fails. 

The story of Gobi has been added to the site. To see it just click on the about us button over on the left hand side.  

On a sour note , I received a mail today regarding the use of the Gobi Name, There is also a Dublin Based Gobi , We have been using that name since mid 1998 and have promotional stuff dated from then and venues that we played can also verify that , We are trying to contact the other Gobi to see if some agreement can be made , I'm sure a name change will be hard for whichever of us have to change , we may cross that bridge should it arise , May the oldest Gobi Win

Anyone visiting this site last night or today will have noticed that the first page was informing you that it was shutdown. Well this was was due to me being starved of information on Gobi so the best option was just to close it. Well it worked, it got Gobi off there arses and I now have a promise of regular updates for this site. There is now a new weekend review page up, new links have been added and new photos are on the way. In the coming weeks a competition for Gobi merchandise such as t-shirts etc etc will be put on this site. So keep posted.   

All the pages on this site have been changed because it just looked stupid. A lot done, More to do (I've heard that a lot lately) . 

A profile for Con has been added. The new photos are on there way I promise. This is turning into the forgotten website me thinks. 

A photographer will be taking some mug shots of Gobi this weekend (hope he/she has a few spare lenses) and the results will be posted on the site as soon as I get them. The remaining proflies will also be posted over the next few days.  

Eoin has handed over his personal details for all the world to see. I've added a rather cool link on the links page to. It is for Revelate (I wonder why I put that there, maybe it has something to do with the fact I designed it)

At last we have got some photos up on the site for you to see. Most other pages have been updated. We still have a long way to go with the website so keep calling back.

This weekend Gobi are upgrading their P.A Equipment So Look forward to a clearer sounding Gobi. The Gallery will have photos on it in a couple of days so if you have any photos please mail them to me hal@gobionline.net
