More from Lough Erne, Co. Fermanagh.

Dull but dry.

Strangely, the water level in the Lough is very low. I managed to get out into the Reed Canary Grass - Phalaris arundinacea - and take this shot. The taller spikes were well above my head, although I must admit I was sinking quite quickly! The darker heads are Reedmace - Typha latifolia.

The seedheads of the Phalaris are bright purple in summer.
