4th April

River Deele.

Sunny and hot after an early frost.

This looks like an Omphalina, but I can't find an orange one. Cap about 15 mm diameter. Research on-going.

Current status (6th April) is that I have found two candidates: Omphalina pyxidata - which likes a sandy environment (often coastal) - and Omphalina (=Gerronema) postii which is a better match but very rare.

A couple of shots of fully-opened Wood Anemone. The shot from behind shows the pale purplish colour that is retained, even though the front of the petals appear to be pure white.

Lesser Celandine with just enough light to show the gloss on the petals.

This is a photograph that I could find every day for the next 3 months. A Lesser Dungfly on a Dandelion.
