4th April |
River Deele.
Sunny and hot after an early frost. |
This looks like an Omphalina, but I can't find an orange one. Cap about 15 mm diameter. Research on-going. Current status (6th April) is that I have found two candidates: Omphalina pyxidata - which likes a sandy environment (often coastal) - and Omphalina (=Gerronema) postii which is a better match but very rare.

A couple of shots of fully-opened Wood Anemone. The shot from behind shows the pale purplish colour that is retained, even though the front of the petals appear to be pure white.
|
Lesser Celandine with just enough light to show the gloss on the petals. |
This is a photograph that I could find every day for the next 3 months. A Lesser Dungfly on a Dandelion. |
