High Heath.

Warm but windy.

Inflorescence of Carex nigra - Common Sedge - showing the glaucus leaves.

Mitrula paludosa, or Bog Beacon, is a tiny match-stick-sized fungus that grows on floating vegetation. I've only ever found it in this one location.

Spores at x 400.

It looks like it's going to be a good year for the Spotted Orchids. I counted 14 in 1 metre of this narrow verge.

Square-stalked St. John's Wort - Hypericum tetrapterum - has pushed up a few shoots. It will be late June before we get the flowers.
