High Heath.

 

Heavy showers, some with hail.

Two yellow daisies to start: Smooth Hawksbeard - Crepis capillaris - on the left and the bud of Common Catsear - Hypochaeris radicata - on the right.

    

 

These leaf rosettes of Common Butterwort  - Pinguicula vulgaris - always remind me of a sickly starfish.

 

A nice shot of the leaves of Fairy Flax - Linum catharticum.

I suppose this is why the Polytrichum mosses are known as Hair Cap mosses. The hairy covering of the capsule is now ready to be jettisoned. Polytrichum formosum.
