Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Cloudy and hot.

A Chrysomelid on Willow, but I don't know which one.

Downy Rose buds are ripening nicely. The flowers on this specimen are palest pink when open, so probably a hybrid.

Luzula multiflora - Heath Woodrush - is only found in a couple of locations - usually near water, but always with dry feet.

Marsh Cinquefoil - Potentilla palustris - is so dramatically different from the rest of the family that it's difficult to believe that it is actually a Potentilla, although the leaves could be slightly reminiscent of Silverweed.

The immigrants have arrived. This Painted Lady - Vanessa cardui - has flown from Africa. I didn't see any last year.

And the Silver Y moth is also an immigrant. Autographa gamma.

The Speckled Wood is still frequent enough, but the Green-veined Whites are definitely declining in this generation.

A rust on Raspberry.

This Sawfly appeared to have a grey face/under thorax, but I'm pretty sure it was just pollen.

A late indoor shot of Buff Ermine - Spilosoma luteum.
