Fenusa dohrnii is a Sawfly that makes leaf-mines in Alder. Mine about 2 cm. across. The larva can easily be seen in the second image.

And staying with the Alder, a fungal rust. This is an interesting specimen, since it most closely resembles Melampsoridium betulinum which normally affects Birch, but has been recorded on Alder in Scotland. Intriguing. |
This Bombus lucorum was very groggy. Most have died by now. |
An odd little pale fungus on Sphagnum. Cap about 15 mm. No id, yet.

A few spring flowers, like this Red Clover, are still making a final push.
