Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

Heavy showers.

Fenusa dohrnii is a Sawfly that makes leaf-mines in Alder. Mine about 2 cm. across. The larva can easily be seen in the second image.

And staying with the Alder, a fungal rust. This is an interesting specimen, since it most closely resembles Melampsoridium betulinum which normally affects Birch, but has been recorded on Alder in Scotland. Intriguing.

This Bombus lucorum was very groggy. Most have died by now.

An odd little pale fungus on Sphagnum. Cap about 15 mm. No id, yet.

A few spring flowers, like this Red Clover, are still making a final push.
