23rd June |
Original Hedgerow, leg 1.
Dull, then heavy rain. |
Bell Heather has been out for a week or so. |
Another of the Cixiidae - related to the froghoppers.

I first showed Argyresthia pygmaeella on June 12. This shot had a bit more light. |
On May 21st I showed a male Gold Swift moth. This is the female. |
This is an interesting one. A larva of some kind has cut off part of a Willow leaf and then used it as a shelter. Little wisps of the silk spinnings can be seen at the edges of the shelter. I'd say it's a micromoth, but I don't know which one does this. |
I haven't done much work on sedges, but I think this is Star Sedge - Carex echinata. |
One of the Chrysopilus sp. Snipe Flies hiding between two leaves. |
