Beech fringe of coniferous plantation.

Heavy showers.

Beech flowers are pretty insignificant little things.

Another new moth for the site: Common Wave - Cabera exanthemata.

And a new plant: Parsley Piert - Aphanes arvensis. A new road was laid in this part of the plantation last year, and I bet the substrate is limestone. The introduction of foreign stone can alter the local eco-system to the extent that new plants (and their dependant insects) turn up.

Marsh Thistle is about to flower. That should see a flurry of insects waiting to lay their eggs in the flower-heads.

Clouded Border - Lomospilas marginata - is one of my favourite moths. About 2 cm. across the wings.
