28th July |
High Bog.
Frequent heavy showers. |
I didn't intend to go to the bog, so I didn't have appropriate footwear. Nevertheless I managed to get a few shots by judicious hummock-leaping.
This is Bog Asphodel. The whole plant is brightly coloured from flowers to stems and leaves. |
Sundew was also evident in a few places. I've never seen the flowers open.
|
The first Cinnabar moth Larva I've seen this year. |
Another specimen of Amblyteles armatorius.
|
A very small (4mm) hairy beetle. |
A red-tailed ichneumonid. |
The first fungi of the autumn season - Sulphur Tuft. I have a feeling this might well be a good (and early) year for fungi.
