Original Hedgerow.
Dull, rain and sunny periods. 1 Ringlet. |
Two nice colour-matched images to start. On the left, the Spear Thistle and a striking blowfly on a Foxglove on the right.
|
Last year, I couldn't get a photo of the Ringlet with its wings open. This one wouldn't close them!
|
And now my summer is nearly complete. The Slender St. John's Wort is one of the most beautiful of our wild flowers. Specimen shown is about 12mm across. |
Two more Willowherbs. On the left, Marsh Willowherb, with its narrow leaves and fondness for wet feet, and Hoary Willowherb on the right, showing the round, downy stem.
