Original Hedgerow.

 

Dull, rain and sunny periods. 1 Ringlet.

Two nice colour-matched images to start.

On the left, the Spear Thistle and a striking blowfly on a Foxglove on the right.

   

Last year, I couldn't get a photo of the Ringlet with its wings open. This one wouldn't close them!

 

And now my summer is nearly complete. The Slender St. John's Wort is one of the most beautiful of our wild flowers. Specimen shown is about 12mm across.

Two more Willowherbs. On the left, Marsh Willowherb, with its narrow leaves and fondness for wet feet, and Hoary Willowherb on the right, showing the round, downy stem.
