Drumboe woods.

Downpours with occasional brighter spells.

This Spruce Carpet moth landed briefly amongst the wet grass. It would be well camouflaged against the bark of a tree. Specimen about 2.5 cm. across as shown.

Three flies, now.

First, two blowflies also known respectively as the  Blue-bottle and the Green-bottle.

And also this smaller member of the family. I can't get any closer identification without resorting to a microscope. About 1 cm. long.

Four tree leaves for the record. Oak (left) and Sycamore (right).

And Birch (left) and Lime (right).

Two plants at opposite ends of their flowering process. On the left, the Raspberry, and on the right, the seedpods of the Herb Robert.
