High Bog.

Bright sunshine all day.

I was in search of Sundew flowers, but I turned out to be about 2 days too early. The leaves have, however, fully developed with their shiny drops of glue.

The Bog Asphodel is showing nicely, and I'll be revisiting later to show the oranges and reds that develop. The close-up shows just what a complex flower they have. Flowers about 12 mm across.

The Bog Cotton was blowing in the wind all over the field.

I got the feeling this lichen was past its best, but maybe that's how it looks. Specimen about 8 cm across.

On the way back to the car I spotted the shoot of the Wild Angelica. Lots of interesting insect photographs in prospect.
