Updated fungal identifications on 7th August, 25th August, and added Ichneumon identifications on 24th August.

 

Continuous pulses of torrential rain and sunshine.

A couple of fungi from Drumboe. Firstly, the Brown Roll-Rim - Paxillus involutus - always in conjunction with Birch, and dangerously poisonous.

   

And now a Hebeloma. Cap about 5 cm across. Brown spored. Again, under Birch.

    

From a layby in the high forestry:

This little Melanostoma hoverfly was one of the first species to appear, and it's still hanging around in small quantities. This one was busily feeding on the Creeping Buttercup.
