3 - Introduction To Coaching Olympic Handball (NCTC)



Created for teachers / youth leaders who already have some experience of the game and wish to develop their skills as a coach. The course has been developed by the IOHA in conjunction with the National Coaching and Training Centre (NCTC). It is the first rung of the NCTC certified Handball Coaching ladder. This course focuses mainly on the role and characteristics of the coach and on how to be a better coach.

Course Content :

The Sport : Basic rules and principles; safety aspects; contacts and aids for continuous coaching development; basic exercises, drills and games.

The Player : Needs and motives of young players; danger of early specialisation; warm-up and cool-down; skill development framework.

The Coach : The role of the coach; communication in coaching; the NCTC and the coaching ladder; planning a coaching session; implementing an emergency plan.

A light lunch, as well as tea / coffee, is included in the price.
