Tarmonbarry Weir

Two years ago, Central Fisheries were asked to comment on the appearance of this foam. Their opinion was that it was caused by turbulence of the water hitting rocks etc. below the weir! (Longford Leader, February 1999). The Minister for the Marine informed IWFPS by letter that there is no pollution problem at Tarmonbarry?

Dromod Harbour

The above pictures were taken at Dromod Harbour on Monday 24th July 2000 It has been suggested that a swimming facility should be provided close to the spot where the pictures were taken, can we really believe that local people would not be concerned that local children may well be swimming in the raw sewage. We have to inform you that the middle picture is of a very personal item and that the trail from it is blood!! We apologize for being so crude….. but the facts are the facts….. pictures do not lie!!
