Waterford Harbour Sailing Club

The sailing club is based in Dunmore East. It caters for all age groups from nine onwards. Nicky Walsh is the commodore. There is training every Sunday morning in the summer. During the winter months a few people go to Cork to train in the winter series.

A lot of people in the club do very well in competitions, especially the Taits. One of them is on the Irish team for the Europeans. People also travel abroad to competitions. The most recent one was in Holland. There is a course on every year. There is also a powerboat course for people who want to drive a powerboat. There is a lot of fundraising for the R.N.L.I. For instance, there is a coffee morning every year.

There is a bar upstairs and a function room down stairs, where discos are sometimes held.
