Inter-Faith Dialogue
Sean Dwan

Thursdays, from 11:30 - 12:55
Jan 7th - 28th ; Feb 4th - 25th, March 4th - 25th, 1999

With increased international contacts, Buddhism, Islam, and various New Religions are no longer distant from us. In today's world, there is a need to understand and converse with people whose faith is different from our own Christian faith. This course will also invite participants to reflect on how the christian message can be enriched by the insights of other religions into topics like religious experience, prayer, conversion, community, and social responsibility.

Dr. Sean Dwan has been associated with the Institute since its foundation. He has lectured in theology and anthropology in Asia and Europe for over 20 years, and was for some time Professor of Anthropology at Sogang University, Seoul, Korea. He has published, mostly on topics of anthropology and inculturation. He now spends part of his time each year on research work in Asia.
