Thomas Kelly scores 4-6

Melview and Newtownforbes played each other in round six of the 2002/2003 school leagues and Melview after a poor first half came away with a good win in the end.

Melview’s first half scores came from Thomas Kelly with 2-3, Sean Flynn with 1-2, Mark Valentine who scored two excellent points from play, Simon Kiernan who scored 1-1 and a point apiece came from Gary Reilly, David Mimnagh and Robert Kennedy. Newtownforbes battled very hard and registered 1-1 in the first half.

Melview notched 4-6 in the second half with the scores coming from Thomas Kelly who recorded 2-3, Paul Devine with 1-2, Emma Dardis with a lovely goal and Mark Valentine with a well-taken point.

Newtownforbes never stopped trying for all the game and scored three points in the second half. Harry Hughes had an excellent game in goals and made a number of good saves with Matthew Dowler, Michael Farrell and Daniel Philips having good games. Final score Melview 7-17 to Newtownforbes 1-4.
