Melview Pupil To Be Mascot For Longford Town

Melview were selected to provide a mascot to the Longford Town team for their upcoming game against Cork City in Flancare Park.  The winner will lead the team out on the night and will also receive a Longford Town kit.  The children in the school were asked to draw a picture incorporating the theme of sport.  With so many children eager to be the Longford Town mascot, the competition proved difficult to judge.  However there must be a winner and it was decided that the picture on the right was the best.  The picture was drawn by Seamus Halton in 5th class, who is now looking forward to being the Longford Town mascot on Saturday 27th April.
