Projected Timeline
The projected timeline of the project is as follows...
At present we are collecting names and information from individuals and buinesses interested in getting broadband in Ballymahon. Using the form in the contact us section you, can register your interest in recieving broadband.
An information evening is planned in the Longford Arms hotel on April 5th, and it is at this meeting that we will meet with prospective Broadband Service Providers (BSP's) to find out what services they can offer us and at what prices.
An BSP will be chosen within roughly a forthight of that date. The BSP will prepare a Proposal and G1 Form, which they will submit to the Regional co-ordinator of the Group Broadband Scheme.
The proposal will be evaluated and forwarded to the DCMNR and we should have a funding decision withing 6 to 8 weeks.
If the project is approved and the grant agreement offered, the BSP will begin installation of Broadband in Ballymahon and it should be up and running in anything from a few days to 4 or 5 weeks.
