Hoodlums through to last 8 of battle of bands
(02/05/05)
The Hoodlums are through from a total of about 30, to the last 8 of the Trinity battle of bands.
The judges of the final are representatives of Hot Press magazine, IMRO and someone else I can't remember but it's
impressive.
Last year it was one by a band called The Business who according to the Hoodlums, were very high quality. They have
since changed their name and I can't remember that either, I think it might be McFly, but I'm not sure.
Smell you later.

I'm selling Jerseys
(10/06/04)
What the hell has this to do with the hoodlums? You are probably asking yourself. Answer is nothing but, I run
this site, and "that's the why" as your mammy probably says.
Basically, I found through buying stuff on Ebay.co.uk and I can get most of the shirts in
Euro 2004 direct from Malaysia cheap, and I'm selling them for €25.
They are genuine and I have several already in my possession and several sold, so you can have a look at them. It's probably
best if you live locally in Ballymahon, for handiness.
Send me an email 0879816000@vodafone.ie if you want me to send me so me pictures of
them, a lot of them have name and numbers (if you want them) and some of the ones available are
Czech Republic - last seasons ones
...and about 10 more various ones like Argentina,Denmark etc.
I can only get them in extra large, but if you're interested give me a text or email.
Here's some comments from 2 satisfied customers ( and also members of The Hoodlums)....
"I used to have no friends and be really fat and crap at football, but that's all changed since I got my Holland Organge
Van Nistlerooy jersey. Kids no longer throw stones at me since I got my great new jersey" Colm, Clonard,
Ballymahon
"People used to laugh at me in the street, because of my clothes and my big huge lips. Now because of my new Italy Blue
jersey with Totti 10 on the back, they only laugh at my big lips." Gareth, Ballymahon
and also this comment from another hoodlums member...
"..Sher, what would you want to be buying those jerseys off him for? he probably gets them for about 99 cent. You'd be better
off buying a few lambs and raring them yourself than wasting money on the like a that. Pat, Tang
I also have a dvd player for sale. It's multiregion (so it'll play those dodgy ones from Clara market) and the only reason I
have it is, cos I bought it off ebay to play my Sopranos (region 0) and a few other dvd's that the family bought in America.
Ya see, I have a dvd player but it was only Region 2, until that was I got this code thing that I entered into the player (I
can get you a code for you'rs too for €10 to make a dvd player multiregion. In fact, I can get almost anything you want off
ebay - Narcotics, Guns, Anthrax, Rory Lennon Cd's just email me.)
So now, I have 2 players, my own one and this one I got off ebay. I'll sell it for €50 and you can call to the house and I'll
show you that it's in full working condition and show how it plays all the different region dvd's.
That's all I'm selling at the moment, I've a big shipment coming in from Colombia on Saturday, so I'll tell you more then.
Keep an eye out for me going by in the van if you wanna chat.

Website given fresh look
(10/06/04)
I (Duncan Murtagh) redesigned the website. Amn't I great. We hope more people will join the Forum as it's a real cool place to hang out, as the young people would say.
We also have a news archive with all the news from last
year, which should make the page load quicker (overall the website should load quicker too).
Some new photos have been added too, and more will follow after the
festival gigs. The Other Stuff section has several different things in it, including - Previous poll results, a screensaver,
a for sale section (ie. me trying to flog my guitar) and a site a-z index.
If you think the old site looked better, keep your opinions to yourself or I'll break your face.

New Web Poll
(22/03/04)
A new web poll has been added to the site. After our set being
cut to ten minutes on Paddys night, were curious to know what ye
think, should we play there again?
The last web poll concluded
that this site is "still the best unsigned band site" getting 29% of
votes. Whereas 21% thought it was "choking on its own flem".

Paddy's Day Festival and Battle of the
Bands
(11/03/04)
On Wednesday 17th next in Paddy's Pub The Hoodlums will be
playing at every good punk's favourite excuse to buy crates of cheap
beer and drink them in the toilets of a public house... yes it's the
annual Paddy's Day Festival. Unfortunatly the wicklow punk bands of
last year will not be coming back and with them (i imagine) their
amstel drinking followers.Ah... an era is over. Anyway we will be
playing 2nd last out of around 10 or 12 bands - just before Bunny.
The full list of bands can be found on
www.noegopromo.com.
The following Saturday(20th) we will competing in a Battle of the
Bands in the Temperence Hall in Longford. This will be starting at
around 3pm and should be over by 6pm, giving us just enough time to
get out of the town before darkness falls and it's famous nightlife
begins. Finally on Friday the 26th(i think) we will be playing at a
fundraiser for Ballymahon Soccer club in Kenny's Lounge,Ballymahon.
We are playing at this fundraiser as singer Colm is a valuable
player on the soccer team - so valuable that they never play him(in
case he gets injured). Keep watching this page in case the date for
this gig is wrong.

Ten Speed Racer plus The Hoodlums next
Sat.
(21/02/04)
Next saturday(28th) in the Hard Rock Cafe,Ballymahon (ran
by Paddy Ward) we will be supporting Ten Speed Racer. These
are supposed to be an excellent band and are on the same label as
Future Kings Of Spain. The Westmeath Examiner recently described
them as "possibly the greatest irish rock band ever" and who are we
to disagree with such an honoured music institution.
There will
be a charge of 5euro on the door which will be collected by an
excited dave mclynn who has been qouted as saying "these are
one of my favourite bands, and Ten Speed Racer aren't too bad
either."

Valentines night gig and Paddy's Day Bash
news
(01/02/04)
News has just been announced on Mtv regarding the 35th annual Paddy's day Bash
which will take place over two days in March.
The bash is on the
16th (at night) and the 17th all day. The Hoodlums (the contract is
not finalised yet) are due to play the 16th with three other bands,
to be announced. We'll tell yee more nearer the time anyway. More
disorganised info as always, can be found here http://www.noegopromo.com/
You may also like to
know that The Hoodlums are trying to break The Stone Roses
record of a five year wait for the follow up to their debut
offering. They currently have only 4 years to go before they can
record something again. By that time they're will be no garauntee
that they're the best band playing Paddy's Pub, as The
Darkness will be playing their also, after everyone realises
they've been doing a "Linkin Park" and playing the same song
all the time.
