My Fallen Empire

My Fallen Empire are a seven-piece acoustic-based act formed in the summer of 2004 when vocalist/guitarist Eddie Keenan joined with fellow local musicians Ross McDonald (guitar), Mike Dempsey (bass), Tadhg Kelleher (electric guitar) and Enda Trautt (drums) and began performing in the Athlone/Ballymahon region they call home. With a sound that veers from a gentle whisper to a
distorted scream, the band quickly established themselves as a competent live act and support slots with other, more established performers such as Pete Courtney, Alphastates, Ann Scott and Cronin has helped bring their songs to a wider audience. The addition in early 2005 of fiddle player Neil Fitzgibbon and cello player Veronica Moran has helped the band cement a sound that takes in many different musical stylings, from alternative rock to plaintive folk, with each musician working within the realms of the given song to compliment and augment the overall sound.
Having just completed their debut ep, the band will be performing in venues nationwide over the coming monthsand have further plans to record a debut album later this year. For more info visit the official My Fallen Empire website here.
