SEASON PLAN 2001-2002

NATIONAL PROGRAM
OBJECTIVES:

  • The Final Drafting of the National Development Strategy.
  • The Development and Promotion of the ITTA Bumper Pack
  • Increased contact with Community Games
  • Increased contact with Special Olympics
  • The Development and Promotion of the ITTA Proficiency Scheme.
  • The Development of Planning Modules and Pathway Modules.
  • The compiling of an ITTA Directory.
  • Tournament Development - Establishing Helpful Guidelines.
  • Development of a Volunteers Charter.

    PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
    1. Introductory Courses.
    Five Junior Courses have been applied for and One Senior

    2. Proficiency Scheme.
    Details of the Proficiency Scheme have been distributed to the Regional Development Officers. A number of schools and clubs have already run this scheme successfully.
    The Proficiency Test is being promoted in the newsletter.

    3. Club/School Coaching Schemes.
    A Community Partnership Pilot Project is being run.
    A number of schemes are being run in Ulster

    4. Regional Centres.
    Two Regional Centres have been opened.
    General Criteria to be published.

    GENERAL DEVELOPMENT
    1. Coach/Leader Education.
    Applications to be received on coach education/training.

    2. Clubs/Schools.
    A new club and schools strategy is being reviewed.

    3. Umpire Education.
    Two Umpire course have been applied for.

    4. Community Organisations.
    Information and Directory of Community Games contacts.
    Closer links with Special Olympics, unified courses to be run.

    The National Development Committee hopes to instigate the development of the regions by supporting these identified areas of development. The regional representatives of the NDC are seeking submissions within these areas.
