Secondary School
Two day activity courses
-midweek/weekends (Sept. - June)
Classes, tours, sports, drama, ceilí and
much more are on offer to secondary school groups
throughout the year. Organised by Ráth Cairn's own team
of teachers and group leaders, this popular course helps
teenagers see what fun communicative Irish can
be...whatever their level of ability. teachers can
choose their own dates and preferred itinerary.
Courses
for Examinations (Irish, French & German)
Intensive Academic Courses
-Junior & Leaving Cert.
-weekends (Oct. - Dec. only)
A series of 6
intensive weekends covering the Irish examination course
and a chosen second subject (French or German).
Supervised study sessions are built into the timetable,
giving students the time to attend to other subjects.
Students must have the required level of fluency in
Irish. Booking and travel arrangements should be made by
parents. In the case of a group of
students travelling from the same area, buses can be
arranged upon request.

Oral Irish
-Leaving Cert.
-weekends (Sept. - June)
This essential course focuses on preparing the
student for oral examination in Irish, including
simulated testing and feedback. Bookings may be made by
parents or teachers.
Oral
Irish, French & German
Pre-Test Course
-weekends (late January)
This
essential pre-test course focuses on preparing the
Leaving Cert. student for oral examination in Irish and
in a chosen second language (French or German). Both
subjects are given equal attention in a communicative
learning environment. Bookings may be made by parents or
teachers.

Tours
and outdoor activities which can be added to courses:

Home-stay accommodation is provided by Mná Tí in the
area (Sleeping bags are essential). Students are
supervised at all times either by their teachers, their
Bean an Tí, or the Course Manager. Bookings must be
secured with a £10 deposit per student.
