The Trust fund match
Two matches took place on the day, with the first team playing a Portlaoise side. It proved to be a workman like display by both sides, with Porlaoise winning it 12-7. Portlaoise got in for two key tries in the second half which sealed it for them.
Match of the day definetely had to the game between the Roscrea golden oldies and a Mick Quinn international selection including Willie Duggan, Ned Byrne, Phil Danagher and Paul Orr and Tipp hurler John Carroll. It was a very entertaining and high scoring game
which was played at a very fast pace. The whole day was a great success with a lot of money being raised. The auction in the evening made a lot of money which no doubt was partly due to the fantasic skills of debut auctioneer Mick Quinn. There was a band and disco in the clubhouse that night to round
off in the day in style.
