Braxtel | Corporate Communications |
Letter of Termination |
|
Unfortunately, Corporate Communications isn't always about good news. In this case, as part of my Corporate Services mandate, I had to communicate and coordinate the downsizing in Braxtel. This was the letter handed out to those affected. Two months later the company had to announce a second downsizing. [Date] Dear [NAME], In recent weeks, we told you about the challenges we face in Braxtel and warned that we may be faced with some difficult choices on the road ahead. This week, we decided to consolidate and reorganise the organisation which results in 18 positions being eliminated in the company. I'm sorry to tell you that your job is affected by this consolidation and that we are letting you go this week. Your employment with Braxtel will end this Friday, February 23, 2001 and you will be paid one month's salary in lieu of notice. This will be a tough time for you and we want to help you in securing alternative employment. On Friday, we will bring in an employment agency to meet with you so that you lose no time in your job search, Our HR department will also work with you on Thursday to give you advice and help you prepare your CV forthe market. We will also be happy to supply you with references should and when you need them. Thank you for your time with us and we wish you well in the future. [Names and Signatures] |
