Welcome to my website which focuses on my beauty writing in Australia, Ireland and the UK.  This is where I could do a sales pitch about myself, but would rather let the work speak for itself. Just to briefly explain the site’s navigation to you:

• Large page views are merely for reference but at the bottom of some will appear a link:

      The full text appears as it was submitted on deadline, to give you an indication

       of how I present my work - unless briefed otherwise.

• To get to another full page view, please go back to the examples page and click on the necessary page.  To view the next page of the story you’re currently viewing, simply click on next  (to go back, hit previous).

Please note that although I am a journalist by trade, experience and qualification, I was also fashion editor for Australian For Me and Family Circle and quite a competent still-life and fashion stylist.  Hence the ‘Specials’ in which I produce both the photographic and the editorial content.  I can therefore organise and style photographic shoots to illustrate my stories - if that’s what you require.  To see my styling portfolio, just drop me a line and I’ll get the shots over to you.

Modern technology has made it possible to maintain clients in all three countries - and although based in Ireland, I am certainly not limited by geography - so wherever you are…get in touch!  Any feedback is most welcome.

Finally a note about style.  One of my chief objectives is to adapt the voice of every story to the magazine for which it’s written.  That means that I look closely at the target audience as well as previous issues before writing anything and always ask myself the question “How will I inspire, inform and entertain the reader?”.  My time as a full-time fashion and beauty editor make these concerns tantamount in my freelance work
