GUIGNEN
Situated 25kms. south of Rennes, Guignen is a charming little town of about 2,500. It is just a quarter of an hour from Rennes airport. The Commune, covering 5,300 ha. consists of rolling countryside, which varies from woodland to open meadow. The Canut river separates Guignen from the neighbouring commune of Guichen. The restored public wash-house near the town, and the pretty villages with sandstone and shale houses are all attractive to the visitor.
LASSY
Lassy lies in the west of the Canton. It offers the visitor peace, rest and relaxation. The river Canut winds its way between wooded riverbanks. Take a turn off the RD 776, just 20 km. south of Rennes to reach this charming little town. Visit the new church, built in 1848, where the bishop's chair bears the inscription "Primus Hac Cathedra Proedicavit Eustachus Loyer Prior Rector Anno 1699". The carved holy water font is also worthy of note. You will also find carved stone crosses along the RD 38 which will bring you to the Paimpont forest.
