Laille & St. Senoux Communes

LAILLE
Laille, a commune of 3,000 inhabitants, is situated just 8 minutes south of Rennes. Near the river Vilaine, the commune stretches over an area of 3,204 ha. The town is surrounded by green and wooded countryside. It has a very active cultural and sporting life. There are several marked tracks for walking or covering by mountain-bike. At the cross-roads leading to Mandon and La Roche the Notre Dame du Desert chapel dates from the middle 17th century. Despite great damage during the revolution it was reconstructed in 1833 as a "peaceful haven in the midst of trees".

ST. SENOUX
If you take the RD 84 which leads from Guichen to St. Malo de Phily, you will discover the area of St. Senoux. In the charming little town you can admire the church with its unusual Roman-Byzantine bell tower. The land and sub-soil provides interest for amateur geologists. Numerous pathways allow the walker to discover the abundant flora and unusual perfumes and to admire the wonderful vistas which open up ahead. By following the towpath along the river Vilaine the visitor can admire many of the restored stone properties until one reaches the lock gate at la Molliere.
