Raifeartaigh, Secretary of Department of Education and blessed by
Archbishop McQuaid.

- St Colmcille’s BNS opened. Pupils had been in
New Borough BNS and St Colmcille’s Infant BNS on Seatown Road. Other
classes had transferred from Old Borough School on Main Street where
they had been accommodated temporarily since 1961.
