The
New Borough Senior Boys’ NS, St Colmcille’s Junior B.N.S and St Patrick’s B.N.S, Cloghraun were amalgamated on 1
May 1966 to form St Colmcille’s B.N.S. The pupils
moved to the new school premises on the Chapel Lane on 1
May 1966. The Principal was Mr. Brendan Kavanagh, the
vice-Principal was Mr. Tony Connolly, and among the other teachers on the staff
were Mrs. Susie Keane, Mrs. Josephine McCague, Ms. Maureen Faherty and Mr. Paddy
O’ Neill. There were 303 pupils on roll at the start of the 1966/67 school.
