  • North Street vacated on last day of June
  • St Colmcille’s GNS moved to new premises
  • The band played on Late, Late Show on 6 December
  • Gaelic team beaten in Fingal Final in Croke Park
  • Mrs. McCague was acting Principal for the year
1985
  • Ł1,484.75 raised for famine relief in Ethiopia and presented to Concern.
  • Band played in Mansion House
1984
  • Gaelic team beaten in finals of Fingal League
  • School uniform introduced
  • 2nd prize obtained for a project entitled The Changing Face of Swords” in School Civics Competition
  • October 1984, “Swords on Air” – mobile radio station set up at JC’s Shopping Centre – Mr. John Fahey, a teacher in our school, compered some of the programmes
  • President Hillery opened Swords Community Centre (now Fingal Community College) in November. The band played Clare’s Dragoons on this occasion
1982
  • Mural with local history theme was painted by the pupils under the supervision of Mr. Joe Lee
