I was born in Kilkenny, Ireland in 1954, and studied Art in Galway and in the Crawford College of Art in Cork. I travelled to Canada to study Native American Indian Art and also taught in Spike Island prison near Cork. I have exhibited in Canada, France and Ireland and have created work for public sculpture in Ireland and for symposia in France. I have made a particular study of the construction of sundials as part of sculpture.
Colour, emotion and the relationship between nature and man are major influences in my work.
My solo exhibition of paintings, 'Dreaming horses' was shown at the Crawford Municipal Gallery in Cork.
I also travel Europe from time to time driving trucks, and am preparing a new exhibition based on observations of landscape I have made while travelling. |
