Letter from GPO in Dublin

Difficulties had arisen regarding the whereabouts of two registered letters sent to the European Parliament on December 21st 2001. (Copies of the two registration receipts can be seen roughly half way down the "Saturnalia" page at this web site).

The scanned copy of the letter below dated February 7th 2002 from the General Post Office (in Dublin) appears to fully clarify the situation as far as Post Office delivery dates are concerned: and there now seems to be no doubt that both letters were delivered to the European Parliament on December 24th 2001. This letter from the GPO is very much appreciated.

For those who may be interested to know more about the tortuous, time consuming, and sometimes very frightening difficulties involved in trying to find out when (and if) the two letters in question were delivered to the EU, please click here.
