Web Design Process...

Angela & Pat O'SullivanAt Ardeevin Designs I take great care to ensure that your Web Site is designed to suit your exact needs and requirements. On this page I describe the steps that I take to ensure that all Web Consultancy Projects which I have enjoyed to date meet my clients' requirements in full.

My design methodology is centred around you, and I always ensure to explain the overall Web Design process in full, so that your Web Site can be fully personalised to your own individual requirements. In all of my endeavours to date I have successfully identified unique characteristics which each of my customers have to offer in their business. My challenge is to work with you to ensure that these characteristics are reflected in the Web Site that I prepare for you. In this regard I encourage a number of milestone checkpoints where I can get your feedback and where I make and discuss design ideas and suggestions.

Steps that I  take during each Web Design Consultancy Project:

    1. Initial Meeting - This is where I visit the customer's business and discuss the overall Web Design challenge. Where required, I also take a number of pictures which the customer wishes to include in their Web Site. I also discuss each individual component of the overall Web Design, before making some recommendations in terms of content which will ensure that the customer's business is represented in the best light possible.

    2. Second Meeting - This is where I being a prototype of my Web Design to the customer and where I take them through each of the Web Site's components. At this stage I would also ensure to have the prototype available to access over the internet - so that the customer can see the Web Site running in a live environment. This allows the customer to experience the site exactly as the general public would experience it. Whilst demonstrating the prototype I would also listen to feedback and suggestions and take note of these for the subsequent and final prototype. During this second meeting I would also suggest that the customer spend a few days viewing their Web Site privately and in their own time. The motivation here is to allow a period of time where notes can be taken regarding any final changes or additions that they would like made to their Web Site.

    3. Third Meeting - This is where I bring a final prototype of my Web Design to the customer. This design would incorporate all of the suggested changes from the previous meetings. Any changes that the customer has identified whilst looking at the Web Site in his/her own time are also implemented during this third meeting. The final Web Site is then hosted and permanently made available on the Internet. During this third meeting I also address any final questions that the customer may have. These are typically to do with the format of email and web addresses, connectivity, configuration, and so on. During the Third Meeting I also request payment for the Design of the Web Site..

    4. Subsequent Changes - My motivation is always to ensure that the customer is happy with their Web Site. In this regard I allow a period of two months where customers can come back to me with any changes or additions that they would like made. Oftentimes customers may come back to me with a picture they would like to use, or a suggestion for a change/addition to some graphics/text on their site. Within a two month period I am happy to make these changes free of charge.
