Sama Fabian

Sama was born in Madrid & educated in France. She started her life of Yoga in 1980 when she met Tapas Desrousseaux, a spiritual seeker & researcher, & came across the books of Sri Aurobindo & Satprem. Jnana & Raja Yoga were her initial paths. After two years of intense experiences she started to practice asana & pranayama as a means to keep grounded & to stay connected to her organic reality. Sama started teaching in 1985 & has a Vinni Yoga background & holds an Iyengar qualification (1991). She completed an Advanced Teacher Training programme with Dona Holleman & Orit Sen Gupta in 2001. In 1999 Sama founded 'Aurolab Yoga Project', a three-year study programme for keen practitioners, with an optional fourth year to prepare teachers. Aurolab Yoga Project 2, in collaboration with Angelika Grohmann, is now in it's second year & Aurolab Yoga Project Ireland, in collaboration with Gabi Gillessen, starts in January 2005. Sama holds regular teacher awareness programmes in Auroville, India; she is a qualified & registered craniosacral therapist & an artist. 

Gabi Gillessen

Gabi was born in South Africa & after completing a four-year goldsmith apprenticeship she started studying Psychology & Philosophy, first at the University of South Africa & then in University College Dublin. She started her Yogic life in 1991 attending classes with Gay Blake, Paula Catizone & Linda Southgate. She completed her Irish Yoga Association Diploma in 1997 under the tutelage of Marlene ffrench Mullen & Nollag Carroll. Gabi became a Tutor on the IYA course in the same year & has been training teachers ever since. She has also run a Tutor training course for the IYA & holds an Iyengar qualification (2002). Gabi met Sama in 1995 & has been inspired by her teaching ever since. She has studied with Sama in India, France & Portugal with & Dona Holleman in Scotland, & Ireland & through Yoga has worked with prisoners, transition year students, primary school teachers, MS patients & people under going intensive counselling.
