Report on the state of the Curraheen River, Bishopstown. Report of the Director of Services which indicated that an inspection had been carried out on the 11th November 2002, and that there was no evidence of pollution from the Cork City Council's pump house or drainage systems entering the river. Some discolouration of the river was evident but had arisen from silt entering the river from the Ballincollig bypass work. This had been reported on several occasions to Cork County Council and while rectified had now reoccurred to a lesser extent. Some branches of the trees were in contact with the water but not so as to give rise to flooding or to impede the flow of the river. These could be removed. The grass and nettles adjacent are normally dealt, with by the Parks Department. |
