As part of our C.B.S. Millennium Project, we are delighted to have "adopted" a Christian Brothers' school in Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay. Brother Eddie McArdle works with children who live in the basin of the River Paraguay. This is an area which is open to flooding and which floods about once every year or eighteen months.

As a result they are marginalized and excluded from society by the simple fact that their homes are flooded so often. After squatting in various buildings, they then have to return and rebuild and equip their homes.

The Brothers, who have opened a little school, encourage children between the ages of 7-16 years to attend. They provide an opportunity for children who otherwise would have no chance of a formal education.

We in the C.B.S. hope to support this project through our fundraising efforts during the C.B.S. Millennium Project.
