CLIMB, CLIMB UP SUNSHINE MOUNTAIN
Climb, climb up sunshine mountain
heavenly breezes blow
Climb, climb up sunshine mountain
Faces all a-glow
Climb, climb up sunshine mountain
Reaching for the sky
Climb, climb up sunshine mountain
You and I
Climb, climb down rainy mountain
Arctic breezes blow
Climb, climb down rainy mountain
Faces full of woe
Climb, climb down rainy mountain
Reaching for the ground
Climb, climb down rainy mountain
Not a single sound
Down in Fernhill Wicklow, right beside the Sea,
There stands a big old camp house, for everyone to see
Its bricks are gray in colour, and the door is panted green,
And right beside the camp house there runs a steam.
In the morning when we rise, wash the sleep from our eyes,
We have corn flakes for our breakfast, just to satisfy our appetites.
And when breakfast is over and we are feeling trim,
We go down to the harbor, for our morning swim.
And when our swim if over and we are feeling fine,
We march back to the camp house, it’s almost dinner time.
Mash potatoes for dinner, bread and jam for our tea,
And we don’t get any supper, so we go to bed still hungry
And our weekend over and we are feeling low,
We pack our bags & cases and down the drive we go,
Were going back to Dublin feeling very low,
Cause we have had a jolly good time in Fernhill Wicklow.

(Tune: This Land is your Land)
As I was searching, for Fun and Friendship,
I saw before me, some small girls playing,
As I got closer, I heard them say-ay-ing,
Come share and be a friend to me.
Chorus
This land is your land, This land is Guide Land,
A global sisterhood, Together we stand,
For love and friendship, and caring you can see,
Guide Land was made for you and me.
I continued down the path, to the Magic Forest,
There in the clearing, stood a large toadstool,
Brownies were dancing, beside a cry-stal pool,
Singing, come and Lend and Hand with me.
I saw a warm glow in the distance,
And the sound of laughter, and a campfire roaring,
Guide songs were merry, my heart was soar-oar-ing,
They said, come learn to Be Prepared like me.
Walking through the woods, came the Pathfinders,
Cadets, Rangers & Junior Leaders, they did follow,
They've learned much here, they'll be the leaders of tomorr-orr-ow,
Guide Land's done so much for you and me.
I
They say that in the girl guides
The food is very fine
You ask for mast potatoes
They give you balls of twine.
Oh I don’t want to join the Girl Guides
Gee Ma I want to go
But they won’t let me go
Gee Ma I want
to go home.
They say that in the girl guides
The uniforms are fine
But me and my best friend
Could both fit into mine
They say that in the girl guides
The beds are very fine
They give you half a blanket
To cover your behind
Chorus:
They say that in the girl guides
The bread is very fine
A loaf fell of the table
And killed a friend of mine
Chorus:
They say that in the girl guides
The Leaders are very fine
You ask for Captain ………..
They give you Frankenstein
Chorus:
I'm glad that I'm a Girl Guide, a Girl Guide I'd like to be,
For if I weren't a Girl Guide……………………
1. An Ice Cream Maker I'd be
Uga Chaga, Uga Chaga, Good Ice Cream (2)
2. A Hairdresser I'd be
Snip, Snip, Snip, Oh what a pity (2)
3. A Carpenter I'd be
Two by four and nail it to the floor, can you dig it (2)
4. A Plumber I'd be
Flush, flush, flush, look out below (2)
5.A Stewardess I’d be
Here’s your coffee, here’s your tea, here’s your plastic bag (2)
6.A Leader I’d be
Brush your teeth, go to bed, lights are out by nine (2)
7. I would just be me.

OH SISTER GIRL GUIDES
Oh sister girl guides will you lend us an ear,
Have you e'er had a problem like ours.
Our uniforms you see used to be untidy,
And our captain would nag for hours.
She would nag, nag, nag, how I wish she wore a gag,
She would nag, and she'd moan and she'd groan,
And she'd stop, when, at twenty-five to ten,
When the guides went home.
'Your stockings are torn, nag, nag, nag, nag,
'Your brown shoes are worn, nag, nag, nag, nag,
And she'd stop, when, at twenty-five to ten,
When the guides went home.
Now the meeting was long and the nagging went on,
Till it drove us nearly mad.
So we said we'd reform, and we'd press our uniforms,
And she'd have no excuse to nag.
So when our plan was made and we turned out for parade,
Our hearts nearly bursting with pride,
And each and every one, with her badges all sewn on,
Said I'm such a neat girl guide.
Captain …………… turned around, nag, nag,
nag, nag,
She started to frown, nag, nag, nag, nag,
She turned rather white when she saw the great sight,
And she passed away with fright.
One Flea Fly
(same tune as “Pink Pyjamas”
As one flea fly flew up the flu
The other flea fly flew down (x4)
Glory, glory how peculiar!
Glory, glory how peculiar!
Glory, glory how peculiar!
As one flea fly flew up the flu
The other flea fly flew down!
As one pink porpoise popped up the pole
The other pink porpoise popped down (x4)
Glory, glory how peculiar!
Glory, glory how peculiar!
Glory, glory how peculiar!
As one pink porpoise popped up the pole
The other pink porpoise popped down!!
As one slick seal slid up the slide
The other slick seal slid down (x4)
Glory, glory how peculiar!
Glory, glory how peculiar!
Glory, glory how peculiar!
As one slick seal slid up the slide
The other slick seal slid down!!
As one pink poodle paddled up the pool
The other pink poodle paddled down . . .
As one hedge hog edged up the hedge
The other hedge hog edged down . . .
As one bed bug bled black blue blood
The other bed bug bled blue . . .
One photographer photographed,
Another photographer's back,
A spider espied a spider,
On another spider's back, ...
One sly snake slid up the slide,
While the other sly snake slid down, ...
One Black bear backed up the bank
While the other black bear backed down
As one striped snipe snuck up the pole
another striped snipe snuck down
As one giggly girl giggled a giggle
another giggly girl giggled too
A busy buzzing bumble bee,
Was busily buzzing by,
One dumb digger dug into the ditch,
While the other dumb digger dug out
One Black bear backed up the bank
While the other black bear backed down
As one red rooster raced up the road
Another red rooster raced down.
A big black bear bit a big black bug
And the big black bug bled blue.
As one cruel croc crawled up the creek
The other cruel croc crawled down
As one strong swimmer swam in the sea
The other strong swimmer swam out

Here we sit in comradeship tonight
While above the whispering trees
Guard our golden memories
And
before we close our eyes to sleep
Let

Guiding friendships true and deep

WORLD CENTRE SONG
Just to visit a world center is a thrill
Though the distance may deter us, go we will
We can meet old friends and new
Share our faiths and customs too
Where, though far from home we may be happy still.
Our Chalet is in the mountains it is Swiss
It is one place you should never give a miss
Climb a mountain, ski back down
You will never wear a frown
When you gather in a lovely home like this.
Come to London on the way to anywhere
Pax Lodge is here for everyone to share
See the great historic sites
Or the theaters at night
Knowing you've a home to greet you that will care
Our Cabana stands in Mexico - Ole!
And whoever goes to visit wants to stay
Theres' a welcome there for all
Secret friends on you may call
So that this is home for you in everyway
There's an Indian experience come along
"Come together" here in Sangam with a song
Light a candle for our friends
And at last when daylight ends
We're together in our home where we belong.
