Original Hedgerow, checking on fern identifications.
Bright, with some drizzle.
On the 14th I showed a sample of Soft Shield Fern. This image from the same specimen shows a much more representative 'leaf' shape.
On examination, it appears that I also have Hard Shield Fern and intermediate states between this and Soft Shield Fern. To further complicate matters, I appear to also have an intermediate between Male Fern and Scaly Male Fern. More pictures when available.
While I was examining the ferns, I spotted this large, black, shiny, Blowfly on a Male Fern. There were quite a few moving around at high speed. About 15mm. long.
I also spotted these interesting yellow-marked Capsid bugs on the Nettle.
