The studio Distribution Boxes, Wall Boxes or Facility Boxes as they are also known, are fixed at intervals around the studio walls. They allow for services to be combined at convenient outlet points such as Camera Cable Outlets connecting the vision signal output of cameras to go to Master Control, Vision Control, the Vision Mixing Desk, Studio Engineering, etc. The Distribution boxes will bring power to the cameras and talk -back to the camera operator.

Likewise with the sound signal from the studio micraphones passes to the Sound Mixing desk and to Studio Engineering, Master Control, etc and they too get their talk-back, power, and vision feed to their monitors through the wall box.

Master Control can distribute audio and video signals from sources both inside the station and outside to the studio, the data could be Graphics, Visual or Audio effects or links from abroad.
