The Local Studies’ Collection
This collection of books forms the basis of the Local studies Collection and
consists of three collections. Each collection is located by way of an acronym
(in brackets)
 | The Local History Collection (LH): A listing of books relating to the
history of Kilkenny City and County, including items of specific local history
interest, with emphasis on places, happenings and people. Each book is
classified by way of the following classification system: |

listing of books relating to Kilkenny authors and people. The Library has a
policy of collecting the various editions of well known local authors, such as
the Banims, Francis McManus and John O’Donovan. The collection is classified
by using the first three letters of the surname of each author: |
