Thomas Judd (son of William Judd) came from Kent, England in 1633/34with his wife Elizabeth ______ and probably his first child, born inEngland in 1633. (Either Elizabeth or William--they were his firsttwo children. He had 9 children in total.) He was granted land in1634 in New Towne (Cambridge), MA Bay Colony. He was made a freemanon May 25, 1636. He went with Rev. Hooker and his congregation toHartford, CT in 1636, and then on to Farmington, CT about 1644. Hewas one of 95 Proprietors of Hartford, CT 1635-36, and one of 84Proprietors of Farmington, CT in 1644-45. (A Proprietor apparentlymeans a first settler.) He was founder and Second Deacon for 26 yearsof Farmington Congregational Church. He also served 19 sessions asDeputy to the General Court there. His wife Elizabeth died about 1678in Farmington, CT.
On Dec. 2, 1679 Thomas (age ~71) married Clemence Mason, widow ofThomas Mason of Northampton, MA. Thomas Judd moved to Northampton, MAat the time of his second marriage and died there on Nov. 12, 1688.
Note: Three of Thomas Judd's children married Steele children; threeother children of Thomas married Loomis children.
