He was the gardener/handy man at Ballinure, for the Herr-Foster(Forster) family. He was said to be very meticulous and kept thegardens beautifully. Later he is remembered tending his own vegetablepatch in Killycoonagh, with a friendly robin that used to sit on hishat. (The robin would wait for the worms to be unearthed.) He was alsoable to get the robin to eat from his hand. He played the flute.

The family always called him Peter (and called his father Peter "theRoper") Elder family members also say that his mother was Mary"Briens". Census info shows that Peter was age 3yrs when census wastaken in March 1901. Family says he was born in Lisnagore; censussays he was born in Co. Monaghan, but there is a chance he was bornin Belfast.

The marriage was performed by Canon Eddie Quigleywho is related to the O'Hallorans that married into this Greenanfamily. Bernard Greenan & James McGuinn - fathers of the bride andgroom - were both living in 1925.
