Student Response
|
Keith Alford | St. Raphael's, Celbridge | I am no longer scared of big ladders. I spent so much time hanging decorations. I had sausage and chips for Christmas dinner. |
Kevin Bayliss | Peamount Hospital | I learned how to do new things and I also learned that I could work with handicapped people. |
Kevin Bennett | Dunshane Camphill Community, Kildare | I really enjoyed myself. The people were so friendly. It should be seven weeks long. |
Michael Bergin | St. Raphael's, Celbridge | I am not suited to that type of work. I would be better off in an office. But I also realise I am very lucky. |
Alan Burke | Scoil Mochua | I think I would make a pretty good teacher. I would love to do another week. |
Simon Caffery | Scoil Mochua | I though it was a good experience but I would not like to work there again as I did not like the work I was doing. |
Ben Clarke | Scoil Mochua | I can communicate well with handicapped people but I never want to see crepe paper decorations again. |
Paul Cleary | Our Lady's Hospice, Harolds Cross | I learned that it is all right to work with people who are disabled. I would love to go back again. |
Brian Cruise | Scoil Mochua | It was a great laugh. I could talk easily to the children. It was an enjoyable week, far better than school. |
Joseph Doolan | St. Vincent's Hospital, Mountmellick | It was a good week but I would not like to do it again. It is not for me as the work was too boring. |
David Griffin | Scoil Mochua | I got to see a side of life I would not see normally. I enjoyed working with the children, though it was demanding. |
Steven Higgins | Special Olympics, Leinster | I thought it was a good experience. The people were friendly and the work on computers was easy going. |
Vincent Jackson | Tallaght Hospital | It was enjoyable and relaxing. the old people were sound and liked cards. But I would hate to work in a coffee shop. |
Robert Keane | Dunshane Camphill Community, Kildare | I found it very interesting that I could help people with special needs. I would like to work there again. |
Clint Kelly | Our Lady's Hospice, Harolds Cross | I am definitely not going to live that long. But I learned about myself and about senior citizens. |
Keith Kenny | Stewart's Hospital School | I thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back again. I enjoyed helping out, being early and not complaining. |
Barry Kiernan | Scoil Mochua | I found that I could help people who need help in ways that I thought I could not help people. A time to remember. |
Daniel Martyn | Stewart's Hospital School | I learned about handicapped children, got free dinners and had a good laugh. I got on very well with the children. |
Shane McCarthy | St. Raphael's, Celbridge | I learned to have patience and to control my anger. I enjoyed chatting up the women who worked there. |
Stephen McCarthy | Stewart's Hospital School | I would like to work there again because it was well run. We got free Christmas dinner. It was a great experience. |
Robert O'Farrell | Scoil Mochua | I learned how to work with kids who are different to me and learned how difficult it is to work with them. I felt very welcomed. |
Michael Ormonde | Tallaght Hospital | I learned that I could do any task I put my mind to and I can do it well. I would like to work there again as it was thoroughly worth the time involved. |
Barry Rossiter | Stewart's Hospital School | Although I do not intend to pursue a course in this line of work I can leave knowing I can do it. |
Micheal Smith | Peamount Hospital | I learned that these people were not much different to me. Some could even do things better than I could. |
David Whelan | Scoil Mochua | I learned about disabled children and enjoyed the kind of teaching I did. It was a very friendly atmosphere. |
