Transition Year Music Page

The students of Moyle Park Transition Year have decided to add a music page to our website. Within our class there are many different musical tastes including Rock, Dance and R'n'B/Rap.We wish to share and compare our musical tastes with both the students and visitors of Moyle Park. Below you will find links to some of the popular radio stations we listen to, class charts which contain our favourite songs of each musical genre and profiles on the designers of this page. If you have any comments, contributions or enquiries feel free to contact the e-mail address below.

Class Charts

We carried out and compiled a survey on the musical tastes of the class. The songs are split up into the five most listened to categories in the class and put into charts. These charts are updated on a regular basis. If you have any comments on our charts, or would like an input, please feel free to e-mail us at the address below.

Local Gigs and Discos

As three of us are up and coming DJs (hopefully!!) and we all enjoy going to concerts, we will be checking out any discos, concerts and music nights etc. happening in and around Clondalkin. We will then be reviewing them and posting pictures on this page for you to enjoy. Also DJs Vinny J., Rossi and Alfy, "The Rave Crew", will hopefully be kicking off their DJ careers soon with local under 18 discos. We promise you fun nights, full of the biggest and best dance anthems. As soon as we have more information we will let you know, so watch this space!

Radio Stations

There are many “Proper Stations” knocking around the FM wave band at the moment but none of which are as good as the “Pirates”. These have been proven to be more popular then the “Proper Stations” as all the big clubs have been sponsored by or sponsor at least one of these great stations. The most popular of these stations are Hotradio 99.1fm, Energy 94fm and of course Dublin’s Premier Chart Music Station Freedom 92fm. This proves that even though a station does not have a licence it can still provide better music and better entertainment.(allegedly!).Club fm is back on 99.1fm. See some of our links on the right.

After Energy94 fm ceased broadcasting on Saturday 16th of Febraury, the station was sold to a HotFm "Superstar DJ", Frank Kennedy. It was relaunched under the new management of Vinny S at 6pm on Wednesday 13th March. We will have to wait to see if there will be any improvements in the station but an insider in the industry reckons it will not be back for more then a few weeks, as a few of the old Energy DJs have refused to return and have opted to join the legal station, Spin fm.

Freedom 92fm celebrated its 7th Birthday on March 6th. After 7 years on air it still remains one of the most popular radio stations in Dublin. As part of its celebrations it will be launching a brand new web-site in the next few weeks, keep tuned to 92 for all the details.

Spin 103 fm, the new legal station, is now broadcasting to the capital on 103.8 fm. It has not officialy launched yet but it is playing music and promos for all the new shows.
