ABBEYKNOCKMOY

New members are enroled in Abbeyknockmoy at Confirmation.
Traditionally, all those who have been confirmed become members of the PTAA.
There is always great interest in Readoiri
competitions and numerous All – Ireland titles have come to the
centre, particularly in Figure Dancing, Set Dancing and Disco Dancing.
ATHENRY

Athenry Centre has become the leading
force in Juvenile and Junior Quiz in recent years. They have competed in All
– Ireland
Quiz finals for the past number of years and won Juvenile final in 2007.

BELCLARE
Belclare centre was founded in 1946.
Meetings are held in the hall on Tuesday
nights.

Belclare has
always been one of the most active centres in the region. They take part in a
wide variety of activities and have been successful in various sports
competitions, particularly badminton.

CAHERLISTRANE

CLONBERNE

Meetings are held after Mass on the First
Friday of each month. Clonberne centre has been active over the years,
particularly in Quiz and we have won 2 All Ireland Juvenile titles and 1
Junior title. However, our most recent victory was in U-13 Girls`Gaelic
football. Our team of Olivia and Siobhan Divilly, Sarah Gormally, Ailbhe
Mahoney, Pia McDermott Geraghty, Ellen Finnegan and Claire Dunleavy won the All Ireland
final in Hospital, Co. Limerick in June `09.
We had over 20 new members enroled
following Confirmation in Feb. `08.
COROFIN

CORTOON

Meetings are held on the second Friday
of each month in the sacristy at 8.30 p.m. Enrolments any Sunday after 11.00

DUNMORE

Dunmore centre was founded on 26/1/1934 and has remained active ever since.
One of the founders of North East Galway
region was Kathleen Doorey from Dunmore.
GLENAMADDY

There are over 80 full Pioneers in Glenamaddy
centre as well as 20 Young Pioneers and 12 Juvenile members. Most of those
Juvenile members enroled after Confirmation early in 2008. 18 of our Pioneers
have been presented with Gold Pins for 50 years membership while 15 more have
completed 25 years.
Padraig Purcell from Glenamaddy centre
was one of the founders of North East Galway
region.
The centre would have been very active over
the years in Readoiri and Quiz competitions.

Killererin centre has been active in various
competitions over the years and won an All Ireland title in Gaelic football
a few years ago.

O`Brien is currently President of North East Galway
region.
Lackagh centre organises a very informative
and interesting seminar each year dealing with the problems of excessive
consumption of alcohol and the ever-increasing problem of drug abuse.
Teachers, parents and teenagers are invited to attend this. Speakers include
well-known personalities from sport, media and politics.
MILLTOWN

Milltown centre has always been active,
particularly in Readoiri competitions.
Elaine Kennedy from Milltown was President of
North East Galway region before she married
Larry McGinn and moved to Cavan region.
MONIVEA

MOUNTBELLEW

Mountbellew Centre has always been active
particularly in Quiz and Readoiri.
Our Spiritual Director, Fr. Sean Cunningham
is from Mountbellew Centre.
Sean Cunningham, Snr., was President of the
region for a number of years.
Peggy Cheevers was Secretary of National
Leisure Committee for many years.
MOYLOUGH

Moylough centre has recently been revived and
on Oct. 6th 2008 27 young members were enroled at a special Mass
in Moylough Church. This was the first enrolment
for many years. These young people applied for enrolment following
Confirmation.
